Robert Earl Keen, Jr. (innate January 11 1957 in Houston, Texas) is an American singer-songwriter. Growing higher, Keen was interested within music, sports, motion picture & writing. He attended Texas A&M University, enrolling in the school of journalism. Frustrated in the College Station, Texas music scene, he began playing guitar & learned to scroll through & write music, basing his style in folk, united states, blues & roots rock. Inside 1977 he rented the home from either landlord Jack Boyett, in which his neighbor was the so-unknown Lyle Lovett. Them became friends & performed together on the front porch. This in time grew into inspiration for a bargain price entitled "The Front Porch Song", which two would add to their repertoire. Around 1980, Keen graduated from Texas The&M, moved to Austin, Texas and began writing for a newspaper. Presently he was performing within Austin's nightspot & survive music venues, building the firm resulting. Around 1984 he financed the recording of his have EP & distributed it regionally. Around 1986, He moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Discouraged per polish of the recently united states healthy & unable to land the recording contract, Keen pull away to Austin. Inside 1989 he released his national debut album, West Textures. His 1993 release, A Bigger Piece of Sky, gained wider plaudits. each amongst fans & critics. Across a next 10 years, Keen would prove my point to write, record, perform & tour. In todays world, he is popular by owning traditional united states music fans, folk music fans, a college radio crowd & alt-united states fans. Keen presently lives inside Bandera, Texas.
